Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 also known professionally under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She dropped her debut EP on the label on October 21st of 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut music on the internet in 2012. She dropped the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music via the web including her self released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. On December 8 it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on October 21st the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared as a guest artist on two tracks with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream off her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on November 13 two brand new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. She performed with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, then she released the song on her own single to accompany Her debut album. The song was followed by the music video which debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. She was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
